Welcome to Stitch City!

***POSTAGE UPDATE Aug 2022***
Postage prices have gone up and will likely go up again, and so I am having to raise prices, earrings are more expensive to post because they can't be packaged flat and need padding, so i have raised the prices by 50p and i will probably have to do so again before the end of the year. Thank you for understanding.

I make all my products from as much recycled material as possible, for my notebooks I use anything from envelopes, blank pages torn from old sketchbooks, brown paper bags, old maps and paperwork that is no longer needed.

Reusing packaging is a priority for me, so your order may come packaged in a second hand bubble-envelope or plastic parcel bag, this saves non recyclable plastics from the landfill. Please re-use again if you can!

All textile items are made with as little going spare as possible. All offcuts and scraps go into earring or pincushion making. Please check those sections of the shop to see what is currently on offer!

**PLEASE NOTE** I am not shipping internationally until further notice.

I am posting from the UK with Royal mail, first class in the UK, standard Airmail to International buyers. In the unlikely event of an item getting lost in the post, I cannot be held responsible for refunding you, but will do all I can to place a lost claim and try to get the amount refunded from Royal Mail.
In most cases my products are unique and one of a kind, it will not be possible to easily replace damaged or lost items, which is why I ask you to please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
If your order is worth over £20 it will be sent via recorded delivery / International signed for.

IMPORTANT: International buyers are responsible for all additional custom charges that may occur.

Additional policies and FAQs

FAQs
Q: Can you make me a custom piece?

A: Unfortunately I am not able to fulfill custom orders at the moment, with working a full time job, overhauling the shop, and undertaking various other projects, it is not possible currently.

Q: What steps have you taken to make your shop more environmentally friendly?

A: I try really hard to operate under a zero-waste policy, which is a challenge! Many of my new ideas for products have sprouted from this need to reduce my waste. All fabric offcuts go into cushion making. Any supplies that can't be recycled will end up in my destash section so please check out my shop for that. I reuse as much packaging as possible from incoming deliveries. I am always on the look out for new suppliers with eco friendly policies eg. recycled papers, organic and fair trade fabrics and biodegradable packaging. And I am always open to suggestions on how to improve this stuff and where to go for materials, so please get in touch.

Q: Where do you sell in person? Are there any fairs where I can see the products first hand?

A: I normally participate in several Christmas markets each season, in November and early December, and almost exclusively in the South Wales area. Please follow Stitch City on your preferred social media to find out where I'll be and when!

Privacy

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorized Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order, for example), if you contact me directly.

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
•as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
•when you have provided your affirmative consent.
•if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
•as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
•Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
•Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
•Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements.

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:
•Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
•Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
•Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
•Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

For purposes of EU data protection law, I am the data controller of your personal information. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me by sending me an Etsy conversation or emailing me at contact [!at] stitchcity.co.uk
